waterfall in chicago

Waterfall in Chicago! the children must be wondering what the....?!  hah, ... more to come...

Today I want to talk about contentment.

Well… I’ve just finished 4 years of medical school and a damn tough pathology exam. But I don’t feel like writing about how bad it was.

Instead I want to thank GOD for enabling me to take the patho exam today, not a year later than the rest.

I want to thank Him for every result, not just academic, he has helped me attain throughout the years. Not the best, but good enough.

I want to thank Him for the relationships he has helped built, and the relationship that hopefully in his master plan, I unwittingly destroyed.

I want to thank Him for giving me health so far, though not the body builder healthy kind, but the current condition is good enough.

I want to thank Him for keeping me during my elbow dislocation, that I don’t have major avert complications.

I want to thank Him for friends that are worth the making, friends that encourage, and sometimes friends that are so full of shit.

I want to thank Him for feedback, some good and others biased and plain bullshit. I pray for wisdom to distinguish between the both.

I want to thank Him for allowing me to enter medicine, to a sea that is chartered but yet I still get lost.

I want to thank Him for hospital profs and tutors, for the good, the bad and the ugly i.e. the ‘you are medical students? GETOUT!’ kind. So that in future, I won’t be like that.

I want to thank Him for keeping me safe on my overseas trips, for the ‘Merpati Airlines’ enroute to Indonesia which shook like an earthquake during landing.

I want to thank Him for the egg tart, which is from 2 days ago and last-night-a-lizard-was-over-it-having-a-feast, that I won’t get a stomach ache.

Lastly, I want to thank Him for a good sleep which I just had, so as to type this monthly entry.

Ok… true to my word, cya next month!

If any comments/disagreements to this, frankly I don’t care.

Last day of sale on at bukit timah plaza. I was down there to help out yesterday. Not much business though, cos I was there only at 7.30 pm, which happened to be 2 hrs before closing time. It was interesting to hear the 2 uncles talk about business. How to bait the crowd, attract potential customers, still let the bait dangle some more to entice them, den move in when the customers are looking around for someone potential to explain to them. Somewhat like fishing.

There was one customer, a lady quite big sized with a thick accent, European I think. She was interested in a vase and started looking around. She was joined with an ang mo with sunglasses on, that I thought was quite poseur cos’ we are so obviously indoors.

“Do you think this is nice? How about that?”

Mr. “Johnny English” said yah, that’s not too bad.

Hmm, I dun think so…. How about this?

Quite pretty

No, too expensive. This one?

This went on for some time, before she mentioned for us to come help her.

So we did. We followed her for a while as she was making her rounds ‘inspecting the vases. Den suddenly she turned around and, “can you don’t keep following me, I’ll call you when I want something. Thanks.”

Stunned, my friend mumbled an “ok, no problem” and turned sheepishly back at me.

Then, in the end she didn’t buy a thing. BORING....what a snob...

Well, some customers are juz like that, so be it…

It was quite interesting to pack up the things. As we are selling in the quadrangle of bukit timah plaza, there was no permanent stall to lock up. The wares were placed in the center. We formed a sort of “fortress” around it with tables and boxes. Then the final touch was in place by draping over a huge canvas over the entire fortress. As I looked on, it looked a bit like the campcraft team, the action of running and laying the groundsheet and the”outer cover” of the tent.

That was sec.3 or 4 then…

long lost photo sia....

K, Last day of sales on at bukit timah plaza. Catch it  before it’s too late!!!

BeAUtIFuL gifts, vases on sale in Bukit timah plaza!!

well, actually my dad and his friends are organising a sale at bukit timah plaza, so muz support him! they imported some really interesting items: vases, decoratives, gifts, bean bags.... some of the items i've really never seen before, even in orchard...

looks like the egyptian pharoh's tomb's artefacts

this isn't an artefact, its a bean bag that is literally filled with 'beans'... u can probably find it in ikea, but is it cheaper there??

these could go off quite expensive at heeren... but cos' this is a rented space at the ground floor, overheads are less..

that's a "fu2" word ( chinese for prosperity)        R is for Ryan and G is for Giggs,                                                                           anyway who goes by these names in                                                                          singapore!? hah, i koe one though...

cool lights!..hmm,.maybe i can use it to interest/chio the kids during my paeds posting

well... if you happen to pass by, den drop in and take a look, maybe if u mention my name or if i'm there with ya, can get a good discount! Buy only when u like the 'thing' ( failure to find a better word for the wide variety of 'things')..   the sale ends in another 2 week's time i.e.20 october..., enuf of publicity, gtg go ... remember to drop by bukit timah plaza if you are around there!
